Parade of Nations
A multicultural event, Ames-Gilbert Girl Scouts, May 2006
Each participating troop selects a country to represent. The troop creates a poster with country facts and provides one more examples of games, food or crafts from their country. The troops begin by setting up their table displays. Everyone then gathers to march with their country flag in a long procession. After the march, half of each troop stays at their table and the other half circulates around the room, visiting the other displays. The two groups then switch places.
This year we had 8 troops participating, representing Brownies, Juniors and older girls. They selected the countries: China, Japan, Ireland, Germany (2), Greece, and Mexico (2).
