As part of Reiman Gardens gnome theme this year, various schools, clubs and organizations had the opportunity to decorate a gnome to be displayed at the gardens through October 15, 2010. Troops 28 and 150 applied to be one of these groups. After visiting the gardens to check out all the gnomes that were complete (along with the 15 foot tall gnome), the girls came up with some great ideas on what they wanted our Girl Scout gnome to look like. They set about sanding, priming and painting blocks of wood that would become "boxes" of GS cookies. They prepared logs and a clementine crate to make a wagon, waterproofed patches, badges and other GS insignia. And of course, they painted the concrete gnome. This project took many weeks layering paint, letting it dry and cure and then going on to the next color or section. The completed project will be located in the Stafford Garden (south end).
