Troop 955: Wildlife Badge
May 2009
On May 16 the members of Troop 955 took a trip to the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge to earn their Wildlife Badge.
Scouts and parents watched a prairie wildlife movie, did a scavenger hunt through the prairie museum area, took a nature walk (attempting not to get blown away by the sustained 22 mph "breeze"), and had a session with Al Murray, Interpretive Park Ranger, talking about Iowa symbols, endangered species and wildlife careers.
We also stopped to view the buffalo herd, which has 11 new calves this spring!
